EXP 1 COMPLETED!!!!

DONE DONE DONE!
The Final Section

And now for some Lumion Renders:

The Southern Wing
My first stab at the lumion renders. I wanted to counter lever the building into a river to emphasise the harmony between the two choices of motor cycle and piano. Furthermore, it suggests a tranquility between the two opposing sounds as they are absorbed by the neighboring water body.
The entrance

The Northern front

And finally, the upload to the 3D-Warehouse:

I wanted to surround the entrance with activity. As a result, motorcycles have been parked at the front of the entrance as an advertising statement to those who enter. Furthermore, the density of the vegetation to the front of the site is to detail the site.

This increased number of foliage highlights a more balanced tone between the environment and the building.

Final Model Pictures

 My final building:
Most importantly, the words that inspired it were Bold and Weight. Also, I wanted to create a rather unique exterior that was quite linear in appearance as I believe that any irregular curves would juxtapose the definitive connotations of the word bold.
Immediately upon entering, I wanted the two studios to be represented as choices to the observer. I did this to promote a discussion of each studio within the observer which was ultimately decided when they reached the staircases.
The two staircases varied greatly in style but still had common features to increase an awareness of choice between the studios. They both occur co-linearly to emphasise this.
The studio for Revival cycles is a large open space with a bottom floor with texture, Mosaic. This promotes an open environment where natural light promotes a more effective work space.
The center of the piano studio promotes a search towards the center. I used a texture based on translucent for the walls to create a sense of lightness in contrast to the layered flooring.

The section work for the individual stairs are:

The idea between the stairs was choice. As a result, I wanted different observers to see each other enter different spaces. To further consolidate this, I wanted both exit stairs to co-align with each studio to promote discussion upon return to the showroom.

The resulting models of each staircase emphasises movement between levels and most importantly that a choice is made in whether you support the alluring sound of the piano or the wild thrums of the motorbike.

I wanted this choice to be integral to the design and hence followed suit with circulating the stairs to promote discourse between the different levels occupants.

Week 3!!!

Lets get into it!

Textures:

All 36 textures

The chosen video that I wanted to use is the cinematic trailer for Deus Ex: Human Revolution. I chose it for the architecture shown after the dream sequence that the trailer begins with. It is interesting to consider the different roles that light can play as it becomes almost a life-form that invites others into a discussion about life and space.

Some Model Work for Week 3; An experimentation with sandbox
The words that inspired this building were movement and weight. I wanted a section which did not seem like an extrusion for this task. I wanted it to be interesting as to promote discourse and hence the roof is irregular and boldly designed.
I also wanted there to be a movement between layers in the design. This is emphasised by the use of glass to dichotomise the thicker layers. The rails were also used to emphasise the movement of light into the far heavier elements such as the lower floor.

Watching others ascend the stairs from outside.
Reaching the top of the stairs

For Week 1 Model, check it out:

Model for Chassis, Elegant

I wanted to create two very distinct buildings and square them together to idealize the dichotomy between the piano and motorcycle

I also wanted to mix the elevations for the site. The idea of a single floor per studio was too safe as an idea. As a result, the elevation is more malleable and occurs across multiple levels.

Week 0!!!

And more of this week's task!

Revival Cycles: Chassis, Moving, Bold.

Stenways & Sons: Weight, Expose, Elegant

Heston Blumenthal: Science, Cooking, Visionary

Introductions

Hey guys!

Let's smash into this week's task!

Something I drew a couple years back. I always love going back to this artwork because it implements the use of shading to emphasise the spiraling glass in the foreground.

Fun Fact: Its inspiration was the broken desperation a person experiences when they spiral out of reality.

I really like how the Gothic style of Knebworth House, Hertfordshire, is complemented so simply by its antiquity. It gives the building a darker history that necessitates discourse on the imagery it creates.

Fun Fact: Used as Wayne Manor in the Burton/ Schumacher series of films.
