My final building:
Most importantly, the words that inspired it were Bold and Weight. Also, I wanted to create a rather unique exterior that was quite linear in appearance as I believe that any irregular curves would juxtapose the definitive connotations of the word bold.
Immediately upon entering, I wanted the two studios to be represented as choices to the observer. I did this to promote a discussion of each studio within the observer which was ultimately decided when they reached the staircases.
The two staircases varied greatly in style but still had common features to increase an awareness of choice between the studios. They both occur co-linearly to emphasise this.
The studio for Revival cycles is a large open space with a bottom floor with texture, Mosaic. This promotes an open environment where natural light promotes a more effective work space.
The center of the piano studio promotes a search towards the center. I used a texture based on translucent for the walls to create a sense of lightness in contrast to the layered flooring.
The section work for the individual stairs are:
The idea between the stairs was choice. As a result, I wanted different observers to see each other enter different spaces. To further consolidate this, I wanted both exit stairs to co-align with each studio to promote discussion upon return to the showroom.
The resulting models of each staircase emphasises movement between levels and most importantly that a choice is made in whether you support the alluring sound of the piano or the wild thrums of the motorbike.
I wanted this choice to be integral to the design and hence followed suit with circulating the stairs to promote discourse between the different levels occupants.
